Me, well I work in the Technology industry and am a keen cyclist and pilot. In September 2012 I completed a cycle trip from London to the Mediterranean - a total of just under 1,900km. In August 2013 I qualified for my private Pilot’s licence and can now fly single engine light aircraft.
My Father’s War experiences in the RAF
My father, who died in 2007, served in 6th Squadron RAF in the Western Desert during the second world war. His story and many photographs he took at the time can be found hereI built the original site in Microsoft Frontpage 2003 which does not work well with modern browsers so I’m rebuilding it from scratch. It’s still under construction (as at August 2014) but if you want a preview of the new site, link is here. When complete, I will replace the old site
I got my Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL) in August 2013 after learning with Cubair Flying school based at Redhill airport. During my training, I kept a blog of my experiences, link hereI have (deliberately) not updated it much since getting my licence as it was a training record after all. As I get aircraft conversions or if I get any further qualifications then I’ll add a bit more.

We did the trip entirely “self contained” carrying everything (including camping kit) ourselves on the bikes. My lovely assistant (aka Penny) did sterling work in keeping a blog of the journey - links below.Trip 1, London to Angers (Loire Valley)Trip 2, Angers to BordeauxTrip 3, Bordeaux to Gruissan Plage (nr Narbonne)I sometimes keep another blog about other cycling trips, details here.I don’t blog all of them, just (hopefully) the more interesting one’s
